This tea recipe can be made hot or cold depending on your preference or the weather.
On a cold day nothing nicer than a warm and healing tea and on a hotter day it’s a refreshing, delicious tea. This particular tea is anti-inflammatory, soothing on the digestive system, cleansing, and energizing tonic.
And, it’s not strong or spicy at all!
Most iced tea recipes use lots and lots of sugar…
But this variation is sweetened with a natural maple syrup, which keeps it refined sugar-free, and adds a nice punch of digestive soothing properties, vitamins, and minerals.
Here’s how to make this amazing Turmeric Ginger Iced Tea:
Ingredients (per 1 serving)
2 cups water
1 tsp freshly grated turmeric root or alternatively Curcumin Water Soluble supplement (see my products list)
1 tsp freshly grated ginger root
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2-1 tbsp natural maple syrup (or your favorite sweetener)
Instructions
Place water in a saucepan and heat over medium.
Add the turmeric root, ginger, ground cinnamon, and maple syrup.
Simmer for 10 minutes.
Strain and serve either hot or over ice and add a slice of lemon.
Note, you may want to use organic Ceylon cinnamon, which has a sweeter, more delicate flavor, because the most common cinnamon powders contain coumarin, which may be toxic to the liver at doses of 1 teaspoon per day.
Hope you like this tea as much as I do!
Ingredients:
1 medium banana, frozen
1 cup almond milk
1 heaped Tbsp Chocolate Curcumin Powder (see my product page) or use 1/2 tsp of tumeric powder (less potency than curcumin)
1 tbsp almond butter
1/2 tsp MCT oil or 1/4 Avocado (healthy fats)
1/4 tsp ginger powder or 1/2 tsp fresh ginger grated
Ice
Peel your ginger if using fresh, then grate them into recommended amounts.
Add all ingredients to a blender.
Blend on high until smooth.
Pour into a cup. Top with banana slices and bee pollen (if desired).
ENJOY
This Turmeric Chocolate Breakfast Shake has both great flavor and real nutritional benefits. And it will leave you feeling fuller for longer.
Due to the healthy fats in this smoothie, which is super good-for-you fat, you will feel sustained and nourished.
The other pretty great additions to this shake are the nut butter (for creaminess and protein) and the fresh and ginger and curcumin powder (for anti inflammatory, immune boosting, and flavor bonuses). It’s a very simple recipe, that you can easily incorporate into your life and just elevated the basic smoothie/shake. I hope you enjoy it! xo.
